Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag insists he still needs reinforcements in the 2024 summer transfer window despite already bringing in two players worth almost £100m.
Ten Hag is pushing hard to reclaim the glory of the Red Devils, with striker Joshua Zirkze and centre-back Leny Yoro already in the mix, but the Dutch coach believes that is not enough if he is to contend for the title this season.
“I want to make sure the squad is as strong as possible,” he said at his pre-season tour press conference ahead of the Gunners game on July 27.
“We have bought two very good players, so when everyone is fit, this will be a team that can beat any opponent.”
“But in terms of depth, we will have to add more because there are still injuries. This season will be about surviving by pushing for maximum fitness.”
“We have proven in the past that we can beat the best teams, not once but twice. In addition, there were many matches where we almost did it.”
“Our challenge is consistency. It’s something we’ve been practicing in secret.”
The position United are reportedly interest in is full-back, ยูฟ่าเบท with Bayern Munich right -back Noussair Mazraoui on the shortlist.
